Come along to our fostering events across Londonkid

Foster Care Fortnight is just around the corner, so we thought this would be a great opportunity to host some fostering events across London. When you are thinking about becoming a foster carer it’s really important to gather as much information as you can. We hope that our events in Tesco supermarkets in Brent Cross and Lewisham are a great way for you to come and meet us whilst you’re already out and about.

Fiona is our Recruitment Co-ordinator for the South East and she will be at Tesco with information for anyone who is considering fostering. Some of the main questions that Fiona has come across so far include, ‘do you need a spare room to foster’ – you certainly do. This is because usually children in care need their own space within a home. Another key question is ‘can I work whilst I foster’. We require a main foster carer per household, who can be flexible enough in their work to meet the needs of a child who may need extra support and have regular meetings scheduled for them. Foster carers are also required to attend training.

If you have any questions, come along and meet Fiona, we’re looking for lots of different types of carers, and especially those who can support children aged 10 plus. We’re also asked to find homes for children in care with their siblings, so if you have the extra room, please consider fostering. Support is also needed for parent and child placements, where a foster carers role is to support a parent and their child/children. We offer support and training to help you foster. To find out more contact Fiona on 01322 629 260.

Meet us in Lewisham on 11, 12, 13, 26, 27, 28 May

Meet us in Brent Cross on 18, 19, 20 May and 1, 2, 3 June
