We we’re delighted to recently sponsor foster carer Paula £300 for completing a Midnight Walk with her family and the children she supports.
We caught up with Paula to find out more:
Why did you decide to complete the midnight walk?
I completed this walk in memory of my best friends son, James, and one of my dear friends Ian Farrell (A.K.A Iffy). James past away 7 years ago due to Leukaemia and Iffy past away last year also due to Leukaemia .
Who did you do the walk with?
I did the walk with my husband Mark, and my three foster children.
Where did you complete the walk?
We completed it in Manchester Central, it was a 10km walk during the night at midnight.
What else was involved?
We wanted to make the event as fun as possible so we dressed up wearing rar rar skirts, tutus, bright neon items of clothing!
Did you enjoy it?
The walk went brilliantly. The children we support have some behavioral needs due to ADHD and Autism and regardless of this they literally took the walk in their stride! They completed this walk in 2 hours and 15 minutes and beat me to the finish line by twenty minutes! I completed the walk in 2 hours and 35 minutes. The boys are really excited to get involved again next year and I was really pleased with how they managed the walk.
How much are you trying to raise?
I’d like to raise as much as possible and I’ve raised £383 so far. Please sponsor us here: https://mmw2016.everydayhero.com/uk/paula-2
