Our talented and hardworking Carers enjoyed a day of celebration at the Village Hotel Walsall on Monday 5th December 2016, soaking up the festive atmosphere and indulging on a delicious three course meal – turkey, roast potatoes let’s not say any more…

The room was tastefully decorated in a grandiose Mardi Grais theme, much to the appreciation of all those present.  The setting was perfect for our festive celebration, and although we see each other throughout the year, on the day we celebrated together under one roof as a Capstone Midlands Family.

This year had a huge focus on recognition of all the hard work and commitment from our Carers.   The day saw a brilliant awards ceremony and Carers that had devoted the last five years or more to fostering with Capstone were awarded with a beautifully presented crystal award and a certificate for long service.

Regional Director, Sara Chambers-Ross said: “We take the opportunity at the end of each year, to acknowledge and thank all carers for their hard work, drive and passion.  You all are extraordinary people who give the children and young people you support  love, opportunities and brighter futures. We look forward to you all receiving awards in the coming years.”

This was followed by a wonderfully delivered inspirational speech by our guest-speaker Michelle Mills Porter.  She shared her amazing story of how she survived the Tsunami recalling the extraordinary events of the day and the weeks that followed.  She wanted to highlight the ‘Power of You’ and that in the face of difficult and challenging circumstances that we’re all able to do amazing things.  Her experiences demonstrated how we’re able to help others and make us stronger individuals.  Thank you, Michelle, for sharing your story

Capstone Midlands Carers event 2016

With Christmas just around the corner, we’ve teamed up with the fantastic team at Behind The Magic Door to bring you an exclusive discount of 40% off their gorgeous personalised children’s books!

These books make the ideal gift for any special little ones and are a great bedtime story for kids ages 0-8. Every story is different and unique to each child, so B-E-N would have a different story to T-H-O-M-A-S, and K-A-T-I-E would be different to S-O-P-H-I-E.

Rather than simply inserting your child’s name into a template, Behind The Magic Door let you create your own characters and build an adventure based on their name, e.g. SHELLY would have a story based around a Snake, Hyena, Elephant, Lion, Llama and a Yeti.

These books normally cost £19.99 each and come with FREE delivery worldwide, but as a special gift to our foster carers and Capstone family, we are offering 40% off! Simply enter code foster40 into the Discount Code box during online checkout to receive your Capstone exclusive deal.
