The Ofsted achievements continue at Capstone, with the Midlands being our latest region to achieve Good in an Ofsted inspection. We are delighted with this achievement, and here is what Ofsted have to say about us:

  • Children live with committed foster carers. As a result, children benefit from stable placements
  • Committed staff support foster carers very well. Consequently, carers feel valued.
  • Children make positive progress in their education, and their health improves
  • Staff and foster carers receive ongoing training in safeguarding and protecting children.
  • Foster carers are well supported in caring for the children placed with them… One foster carer explained that this support has given them the ability ‘to think outside the box, which has been really helpful’.
  • Children enjoy a wide range of activities. A child said, ‘I go out to lots of exciting places. We’re a real family.’
  • Foster carers feel well supported. Managers and staff value all family members and consider their views. A foster carer said, ‘They really care about the well-being of the foster family.’

Regional Director, Sara Chambers Ross, said:

“I am really proud of our Ofsted achievement and the feedback we have received. The team at Capstone Midlands work hard every day to support foster carers to build brighter futures for the young people in our care. I want to thank all members of the Capstone Midlands family for your contribution and efforts in achieving this fantastic result.”

We are delighted to tell you we have arranged a Costco membership for all foster carers and staff within the Capstone Foster Care Group.  This will give you significant benefits as a ‘Trade’ member.

Costco has 24 stores throughout England, 3 stores in Scotland and 1 in Wales.  All are open 7 days per week and sell almost everything you might wish to buy at significantly lower prices than offered in normal retail shops.  They regularly issue SAVINGS offer booklets at different periods throughout the year.  A further bonus… bigger savings!

Checkout www.costco.co.uk and be surprised by the range of what you can buy there.  You may be able to save several hundred pounds each year from your visits to Costco.

Here are foster carer friends Julian and Shauna making the most of their membership!

The Capstone Midlands team have recently hosted their summer activity day at Green Towers Youth Centre in Hinckley. Over 100 children and foster carers arrived on the day and we were lucky to be welcomed with clear skies and sunshine! pic 12

Everyone was free to explore all of the activities available from roller blading, skate boarding, scooting, BMXing to Bouncy Castle, face painting, soft play, snooker and table tennis. All in all, a fun filled energetic day was enjoyed by all, we aren’t sure who enjoyed it more though the adults or the children.

Here are some of the lovely comments that were made: –;

“We all really enjoyed the day, something for all the kids of all ages. And even the very big kids including Social Worker, Dan – seemed to thoroughly enjoy it!”

“Great event, great venue I would highly recommend anyone who didn’t go this time to go next year as it really is a great day out”, S – Foster Carer in Leicester

“I liked the roller blading”, K (10) from Herefordshire

“A great, relaxing, fun day with people who care about kids.” M – Foster Carer in Nottingham

“At Capstone Midlands we like to encourage everyone to have fun and explore their inner child, good old back to basics family fun is always great. It’s our way of supporting families to have fun and we know how important it is to feel a sense of community when you are a foster carer”.
